Kantenstellung des Rings des Saturn von Cassini fotografiert

W00075400.jpg was taken on September 04, 2012 and received on Earth September 07, 2012. The camera was pointing toward TITAN at approximately 1,282,976 miles (2,064,749 kilometers) away, and the image was taken using the CB2 and CL2 filters. This image has not been validated or calibrated. A validated/calibrated image will be archived with the NASA Planetary Data System in 2013. Am 4. September 2012 machte die Raumsonde Cassini diese Aufnahme des Saturnringes in Kantenstellung und den Schattenwurf des Ringes auf den Gasplaneten. Ein geniales Bild! Die NASA gibt dazu folgende Beschreibung:

Die Aufnahme wurde also im sichtbaren Spektrum des Lichts aufgenommen, aber in s/w. Jason M. hat in seinem Blog Lights in the Dark eine leicht bearbeitete Version veröffentlicht.
